With the new Chief Minister—what new schemes are set to be launched for the people of West Bengal ?

Ayushman Bharat Yojana:

It has long been a dream of the Central Government to introduce the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in West Bengal. Now that a new government has taken office, the Modi administration aims to launch the Ayushman Bharat Yojana within the state. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide health-related assistance or financial grants to the residents of West Bengal. Through this initiative, financial aid is extended to cover medical treatment—whether in government or private hospitals—via special subsidies.

Essentially, a single card is issued per family, enabling access to cashless medical treatment benefits worth up to ₹5 lakh. Consequently, the general public believes that this scheme holds the potential to provide significant assistance to people from impoverished families.

Prime Minister Awas Yojana:

We are all aware that, during the tenure of the Mamata government in this state, a new housing-related scheme—known as the 'Bangla Awas Yojana'—was introduced. Now, with the BJP government potentially coming to power, the Central Government is keen to implement its own 'Prime Minister Awas Yojana' scheme in the state. Through this initiative, special financial assistance is provided for the construction of housing units. Fundamentally, the Awas Yojana could mark a new chapter for the nation's impoverished citizens.

Prime Minister Matsya Sampada Yojana:

The Matsya Sampada Yojana is one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship initiatives. He now seeks to fully implement this scheme in West Bengal for the benefit of the state's large fishing community. Through this program, beneficiaries receive various forms of assistance, including financial aid, insurance coverage, modern equipment, and other related benefits.

Jal Jeevan Mission:

The Jal Jeevan Mission is another key initiative of the Central Government. However, progress on this program has been slowest in West Bengal. According to a recent report, only slightly more than 50 percent of the population in rural areas has so far gained access to piped water facilities, leaving a significant number of people still deprived. Furthermore, the Central Government claims that the state has utilized only 53 percent of the funds allocated to it by the Centre.

PM SHRI Schools:

This centrally funded model scheme—which had previously been stalled in West Bengal—is expected to be highly instrumental in transforming the state's education system and pedagogical framework. Therefore, if this program is successfully implemented in West Bengal, it is poised to bring about substantial progress within the education sector.

Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana:

For a considerable period, the state government had opted to keep itself disassociated from this central agricultural insurance scheme. With the formation of the new government, farmers in West Bengal whose crops are destroyed by natural calamities may receive financial compensation through the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

**Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana:**

Through this scheme, the state's traditional artisans and craftspeople are provided with training, modern tools, and collateral-free loans. Once implemented, this project will benefit a wide range of artisans in the state, including weavers, potters, and blacksmiths.

**Monthly Allowance of ₹3,000 for Women:**

Essentially, under a new name, a promise was made to deposit ₹3,000 directly into the bank accounts of women. Consequently, if this scheme is launched, the residents of Bengal—particularly its women—will benefit significantly.

**Schemes for the Unemployed:**

A few months ago, the Mamata government launched the 'Yuva Sathi' scheme for the unemployed. Now, in a bid to outdo that initiative, many have promised to introduce a new scheme—one that pledges a monthly allowance of ₹3,000. If this project is implemented, unemployed youths will stand to benefit immensely.

Furthermore, during their election campaigns, leaders and ministers—from both the Central and State governments—spoke of creating employment opportunities and introducing various new programs and schemes to provide one-time benefits to unemployed youths. The crucial question now remains: to what extent will these promises actually be translated into reality?
